Hope everyone is doing fine. This site is going to be undergoing some serious changes pretty quickly. For one, we've changed the name of our band for the last time. Scott Anthony, Melissa Houston and I are now and forever (litigation be damned!) The Nu-Sonics! We're currently finishing work on the new record. All recording is completed, and the mix has begun. You can hear the first almost finished mix of "Losing Myself" right here.
I'm still involved in engineering at Excello Recording here in Brooklyn with help from blues rock guitar titan and engineer/producer Hugh Pool. If anyone needs a great analog or digital studio with a live room large enough to accomodate a small orchestra and enough vintage gear to make you feel like a Beatle, get in touch with Hugh here.
After working together on my stuff, engineer Scott Anthony and I hit it off so well that he decided to let me assist him on some projects at his Viewing Room studio in New Jersey.
Aside from my engineering interests, I'm also, as you have probably guessed, a recording artist. I'm a rock and roll singer, guitarist and songwriter. My music is straightforward guitar-bass-drums rock and roll. I like to keep things simple; good songs don't need much embellishment. If you like Richard Hell and the Voidoids, Big Star, The Replacements, R.E.M., Son Volt, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, or Freedy Johnston, you might like my stuff.
Like Iggy Pop, I was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Unlike His Royal Igness, I had the challenge of growing up primarily in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, home of the World's Largest Cedar Bucket. I happily moved to Brooklyn in 1998. There is less, but almost uniformly better, country music here. Weird.
